WEEK OF WINTER HAIR REMEDIES (Intro)
Hi gals, I know, It’s been a while. But, thanks (& also no thanks) to the third California COVID-19 shut downs of salons, I’M BACK to blogging. I am coming with more positive tips and tricks & regular blogs to keep you up on the latest hair tea.
What this small blog series is all about:
COMMON WINTER HAIR PROBLEMS AND HOW TO REMEDY THEM LIKE A PRO.
One full week of remedies STARTING TOMORROW and I am including a ton of winter hair issues you can probably relate to. Each day, I will be releasing a new article that is short and sweet, but straight to the point. Okay, actually day one is not that short, but the rest will be! I am spilling the tea on how to remedy all those annoying little hair things that drive us all nuts. From static to tangles, itchy/dry scalp, hydration, and more!
PLUS, All things you can do that are mentioned in this series are COVID friendly. Most involve not leaving your house, or curbside pickup from your local salon. The hair of your dreams usually doesn’t happen overnight or with no effort ( I know, I know- it’s unfortunate) and care, so buckle up & don’t miss each day of this week for brand new write ups about helping your hair. Nope, it won’t be to get all sale-sy and push to sell you the product I carry, but I will include my favorites here and there. A lot of the brands i’ll be suggesting actually aren’t even ones I offer in the salon, but I will always link the info on how to get your hands on it. I will always give budget friendly oppositions to most of the recommendations that I have. I like to give a wide range of info, if I know of different cost options for each budget type. I really believe in not shaming our clients or friends, and lean into educating and sharing alternative options when possible.
I’m going to leave you with some basic winter hair tips for today. Day 1’s topic will be released tomorrow. These little tips are redundant, but really can’t be said enough. Even if you know them, reminders and refreshers never hurt anyone (wink, wink):
Protect your hair when you can: Wear a hat or scarf to protect your hair from the cold air and other environmental stressors. This is essential if your hair is fragile, over processed or dry.
Don’t leave the house with wet hair: This is not as crucial in San Diego, but for all my other gals in colder temperatures, listen up! The cold air can literally freeze your hair microscopically and can lead to breakage. Even if you can’t see it, it may still be happening. Don’t go to bed with your hair wet, either! Hair is at it’s most vulnerable while damp and wet.
You know what I’m about to say: Regular haircuts. No explanation needed, right? Short hair or precision cuts should be cut every 5-8 weeks to maintain the shorter looks. Long haired gals, 8-10 weeks for a trim and if you have any layering or texturizing pieces, those will feel heavy by now and need a refresh
Keep hydrated: Not just regular hair masks, I mean on the inside, too! Cold air in the winter also removes moisture from your scalp. Drinking plenty of water - just like your skin needs - our scalp also needs it, too.
These are just touching the basics. You are going to love the next 5 days of blogs!
If you do find them useful, please feel free to share the info and links with your friends! See you positively tomorrow.
