When any season change happens, I usually add at least two new products to my regimen. A couple of these I have had in my rotation for a while, but since this is the first obsession share, I want to tell all! After summer, my hair and skin can feel dry and in need of some serious TLC. Moving into cooler weather is my absolute favorite because it feels cozy and exhilarating to me, I can’t explain the L-O-V-E I have for winter, babes!

Before moving into my top 7 obsessions, I want to do a friendly little disclaimer to keep in mind. With any products, be cautious if ordering from Amazon or unauthorized sellers. Though is not always the case, there is a known risk of the products sold on certain sites. (not naming names) Cases have been reported that the products have been found to be watered down, and in extreme cases even completely swapped out with a different solution. Gross, right? And also a waste of money.

The only 100% safe way to be sure is to purchase through a salon retailer. With that being said, I will list the products I love and in most cases, you can find out on the company website where to purchase. Alright, first is my current god of all products…

Shimmer Shine by Kevin Murphy is hands down my #1 obsession right now, and not just for Winter. I have fine hair (but, a lot of it) and for being a silky spray… it DOESN’T weigh my hair down! This spray is so versatile & KM even makes one for blondes that is the same ingredients, just a different shade of shimmer tailored for all my blondies. It is moisturizing and protecting, and best of all it leaves a reflective glimmer on your strands! You can purchase this from me at Jayden Presleigh, The Salon in Carlsbad if you are local. You can go to Kevin Murphy’s website to see which salon near you carries it. It is a salon exclusive only. Overall, It’s a lightweight finishing mist, with light reflective technology from high-end skincare, adds brilliant shine to the hair with no oily residue or added weight. I wish you could smell through the computer, because the scent of this spray is literally my favorite smell ever. I am obsessed. One of my girlfriends who works at another salon that also carries Kevin Murphy says she uses it as body spray and mixes it into her lotions … Hello, genius!

Next necessary obsession is Dream Filter by Color WOW hair. This is also a spray and honestly the technology is mind blowing to me. It is so easy to use and you can use it on wet or dry hair. You spray it on for a few minutes and the solution acts like magnets that draw out harsh minerals and hard water molecules from our hair… Like, WHAT?! How is this not in everyone’s shower yet, IDK! But, it needs to be! (Especially us San Diego girls!) This one is also available at Jayden Presleigh. It’s amazing for all hair colors and is color safe for before or after your salon sessions. I suggest doing it once a week to keep your hair fresh. For all my blondies, this will keep your tones super bright! The hard water and toxins found in the atmosphere can really harsh your blonde tones! This will be your savior! And if your a brunette like me, This is amazing for us also to keep our hair shiny and not dull or fading to that reddish hue most of us aren’t fond of. (Unless it’s intentional copper, you know what I’m sayin!)

I cannot say enough amazing words about this next little baby. Davines’ Vegetarian Miracle deep conditioner. If heaven was a deep conditioner, it would smell and feel like this one. Like, no joke… This mask helped my hair SO much when I was platinum blonde and also when I had a million bright colors. It is great for all hair types. It smells like tea tree and natural fresh amazing goodness, there’s no other way to describe it! It contains all kinds of natural ingredients- which I looooove. It has acai oil which is full of reparative and protective antioxidants. Also, Grape phytoceuticals, which are a vital source of polyphenols and antioxidants, which have therapeutic benefits for hair health. It will help even the most brittle hair. Okay, my next one is my absolute favorite lip gloss that I have been using for years! To be totally transparent, I’ve always wanted lip injections and am too much of a wimp to pull the trigger. Until then, I use this amazing little plumper. It’s Too Faced Lip Injections. I use the “Extreme” one in clear. It plumps your lips up and gives a super shiny look, which I personally love. Be sure to not over line your lips with this one… leave that for your lipsticks, trust me. It’s strong and will leave nice little red blotches around your mouth if you are like me and think “more is more”! Keep it on your lips and you’ll love the results! I think it’s about $30 and it lasts me a really long time, even since I wear it about 5 times a week to work! You can also buy a mini version to test it out first before committing! I get mine at Ulta, but I’m sure any big name beauty store that carries Too Faced products will have it. Plump it up ladies, you’ll feel flirty in no time!

My next product highlight is thanks to my girlfriend at work who suggested this company to me. After both struggling with insane adult acne & similar stories, we have agreed that this has helped wonders for both of us. Although I am still struggling with mine, the improvement is uncanny. Introducing Curology. I get the 3 package deal and it comes with cleanser, moisturizer and what they call a “Super Bottle” aka your medicine. You can also just purchase the bottle. I like the matching set because the ingredients are clean and natural and It’s been easy for me to be consistent. Even if you don’t have acne… they cater to all skin goals like anti aging, wrinkles, dark spots, etc. It is tailored to you. You can get a free trial online, you just pay for shipping, which is how I fell in love & got to try out this stuff. It is catered to you because you are assigned a medical professional for your case and you fill out a very extensive amount of info about your skin history, including photos. Your med provider comes back with a whole treatment plan and a prescription inside your super bottle. It is SO worth looking into. Trust me.

My next is actually a product I use season-round. Cool BB cream “rosilliance”. It’s over 70% organic which is insane for a bb cream. It has rose stem cells and other awesome stuff in it, not to mention 30SPF! You can purchase this at Jayden Presleigh, and other Coola retailers. The company is safe and their sunscreens are Reef Friendly which I am ALL about. The BB cream has a silky feel and leaves you with a flattering dewy finish. I don’t always want a dewy look, but I do find it is great on weekends when I want a lighter coverage and a youthful glow. If I want a heavier coverage for my not-so-clear face days, I love using this almost as my primer and then just covering whatever I need to with my concealer… It makes for a great combo.

Okay, Next…

Every. Single. Person. Should be using some form of Leave-In conditioner. I repeat… every.single.person. It is VITAL for before brushing out your shower hair and protecting against heat. Although you should have a separate solution specifically for heat defense, if one is built into your leave-in, it’s better than nothing! This is my current favorite, by Kevin Murphy, that can also be purchased at JP. It’s called untangled. Smells amazing, bottles are made from 100% OWP (Ocean waste plastic)… and the ingredients are so clean! LOVE this spray.

Like anything, of course you can use these products year round but I love them currently while we’re transitioning into colder end of winter days.

The mask & leave-in spray will repair after the harshness of summer. The BBcream & lipgloss combo is amazing for those cozy sweater days when you don’t need a ton of makeup, but want to look fresh. The Shimmer Shine and Dream Filter are both just HANDS DOWN a must-have for your beauty collection. Worth every penny and will last you!
